Join us for a reception to celebrate rights and acceptance for diverse families and relationships in Oakland and around the world!

When: Tuesday, April 16, 7:00-9:00pm
Where:
East Bay Community Space, 507 55th St., Oakland, CA
Who:
Hosted by OPEN and the Modern Family Institute.

This event follows a meeting of the Oakland City Council, where we hope to see the adoption of the first non-discrimination protections for diverse family and relationship structures on the West Coast! This free event will serve as an opportunity to learn more about the organizing behind this legislation and to raise awareness, funds, and support for some of the organizations driving this work:

OPEN (Organization for Polyamory and Ethical Non-monogamy) is a grassroots nonprofit working to advance cultural acceptance and legal rights for non-monogamous families and relationships.

The Modern Family Institute conducts research on the demographics and needs of diverse family and relationship structures in order to advocate for shifts in social norms, policies, built environment, and clinical practices that help people build and sustain flourishing families.

Expect an inspiring evening with short remarks, great music, and a chance to celebrate our collective progress toward fostering a safer and more inclusive society for all families and relationships to flourish!
